In the end of the promo we got a Morse code of two words. I listened to it for about an hour and I think i got the solution, VOID STILES or in Morse code:
If I deciphered it right, it should mean that the Beast of Gevaudan is a chimera between a wolf and a fox (werewolf + nogitsune). It would explain why the beast must be a chimera. In season 3B episode 24 “The Divine Move” Void Stiles said to Lydia and Stiles “You can’t kill me, I’m a thousand years old!” and Lydia and Stiles replayed, Lydia “But we can change you!”, Stiles “You can’t be a fox and a wolf.”. Apparently you can. And he should be unbeatable this time. You cannot change the body of the host because it has no solid body, just a “shadowy armor”, you cannot bite it. It is already part fake wolf and you cannot exorcise the evil kitsune because it is not the real thing, it’s just a fake. Also, you cannot trap it with Mountain Ash because it is not a supernatural creature.

we don’t have any good reasons to believe the beast is a werewolf at all other than the legend of la béte itself and, in s5be14, gerard tells us there are several versions of it. there is also the fact the doctors want the teen to forget themselves and incorporate someone else’s memories which calls back to the possession.
if part of the nogitsune arc was a projection of shadows (and that’s the reason the shadow riddle was the main on), what we may see here is just a bigger and more powerful version of a shadow they didn’t recognize as such. so what if the body of the shadow was gone in s3b? a shadow can form a new one, take on a new appearance, and it won’t be defeated until the host is defeated. so stiles may need to die like lydia predicted he would.

“Why … ? ” His voice broke […] It was the abyss that Stiles wrote of, and that suddenly opened up before him, black and impenetrable and endless. And no one held his hand as he looked down. He fell to the ground. Halfway down Stiles was suddenly there and wrapped his arms around him.
“Scott! Scott … ” He fell to his knees beside him, both hands buried in Scotts sweatshirt.
